American auto racing driver Danica Patrick has been ranked 93 in the list of most powerful woman in the world by Forbes magazine, while she is at #16 under category Lifestyle. She is beaten by position by India’s Chanda Kocchar (#92, Chief Executive, ICICI Bank) and she beats Kuwait’s Maha Al-Ghunaim (#94, Cofounder and chairwoman, Global Investment House) by one position in the rankings.

In Forbes’ just launched Power Women Issue, which is topped by the American First Lady Michelle Obama, Forbes has divided the power women into four groups: politics, business, media and lifestyle (entertainment, sports and fashion) and ranked the women in each group, and then group against group. About the new ranking system, Forbes says, "Not easy, but that's today's reality: an incongruous, diverse mash-up of hard power (currencies and constitutions) and dynamic power (audience and audacity)."

Patrick is currently competing in the IndyCar Series, the ARCA Racing Series, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series. With her win in the 2008 Indy Japan 300, Patrick became the first woman to win an Indy car race.

Patrick has hosted several TV shows on Spike TV, and was featured on the cover of the June 6, 2005 issue of Sports Illustrated, making her the first Indianapolis 500 driver on the cover since Al Unser. Also Patrick appeared in the February 15, 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She had also previously posed for FHM (April 2003 issue). She also appeared in Jay-Z's music video "Show Me What You Got," in which she drives a Pagani Zonda Roadster. Patrick was featured in an ESPN "This Is SportsCenter" commercial. She has also been featured in several campaigns of GoDaddy.

In 2007 she was voted the sexiest athlete in Victoria's Secret’s "What is Sexy" list. Patrick also was voted #42 in 2006 and #85 in 2007 in FHM's 100 sexiest women in the world lists. Also she won the 2008 Kids Choice Award for favorite female athlete.

In May 2006, Danica Patrick published her autobiography, “Danica: Crossing the Line”.
