The Other Guys (2010) action-comedy crime film directed and co-written by Adam McKay, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, and featuring Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, and Ray Stevenson, was released on August 6, 2010. The fourth collaboration between Ferrell and McKay, following Anchorman (2004), Talladega Nights (2006), and Step Brothers (2008), “The Other Guys” was produced on a budget of $100 million and it grossed domestic total revenue of over $113 million as of Sep 15, 2010, reported Box Office Mojo.

Photography for the film began on September 23, 2009 in New York City, followed by more location shooting for additional scenes filmed in Albany, New York.

Eva Mendes, who began acting in the late 1990s, and broke into more mainstream Hollywood releases such as 2 Fast 2 Furious, Hitch, We Own the Night and The Spirit, also sang for the Funny or Die music video "Pimps Don't Cry," a song featured in The Other Guys, released on August 6, 2010.

According to telegraph.co.uk, Eva Mendes, 36, lit up Leicester Square in London on the occasion of the premiere of the Hollywood film “The Other Guys”, but Mendes appears to see her future behind the camera, and said, "I just directed my first short film, with Christina Ricci, and I can't tell you the joy I have found through directing. I don't know if I'm ready to do a feature, but that is something that excites me, for sure."

Mendes who has starred in films such as Hitch and We Own the Night admitted that her character may not be suited to barking out orders, "I don't like bossing people around, but I'm into creating a world and a vision of your own; it's pretty amazing."

In a lighter vein Eva Mendes said appearing opposite the comic actor Will Ferrell in The Other Guys had been testing, "At one point I had to bring in my attorneys… I had a restraining order against Will for the first month of shooting and then things got a little bit better."

American actress Eva Mendes, 35, who has been dating Peruvian filmmaker George Augusto since 2002, has revealed that she visits a therapist once every week to feel good. She said, it is the easiest way to discuss problems, as the person is not directly involved in her life.

"It's great when there's a person who doesn't have an emotional connection to your life and does everything to make you feel better," she told the Sydney Morning Herald magazine.

Mendes is known for a series of roles in several major Hollywood films, including 2 Fast 2 Furious, Hitch, Training Day, We Own the Night and The Spirit.
