Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes split up

Oscar-winning Actress Kate Winslet, who shot into global fame in 1997 as the romantic heroine in James Cameron's Titanic, and her husband Sam Mendes have split up, their lawyers announced. "Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year," said lawyers Schillings.
Kate Winslet, 34, and director Sam Mendes, 44, married in a private ceremony in the Caribbean in May 2003, which was Winslet's second marriage, after divorce from director Jim Threapleton, after three years of marriage. The couple have a child together, Joe, while Winslet has a daughter, Mia, from her first marriage. Winslet won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Reader in 2009, though she was nominated for Oscars for her performances in Titanic, Sense and Sensibility, Iris, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Little Children.
Mendes, who won the Best Director Oscar for American Beauty in 2000, is also known for directing Road to Perdition (2002) and Revolutionary Road (2008), in which Winslet was teamed again with her Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
